Miscarriage vs mmc

For those of you who had a normal miscarriage, I’m really sorry!

I had an mmc…also brutal.

Can anyone explain to me how a regular miscarriage happens?

For mine, because my body didn’t recognize baby had passed, my hormones were supposed to drop until it kicked in a period where I’d pass the tissue. 5 weeks went by and it never happened and I had to get a d&c.

Is a normal miscarriage like that, the levels just drop quicker and that’s why you bleed right away? Or do you bleed spontaneously and then the hormones drop after?
