Please Help! Infection Caused by Mirena?
I’m 19, and I’ve had bacterial vaginosis twice in the last six months. I never had BV until I turned 18, got the IUD, and started having sex with men, rather than women. I think that my hygiene while I’m depressed, the hormones in my IUD, letting my boyfriend finish inside me, and switching partners is what is causing my infections. The first time that I had BV, I took clindamycin vaginal cream, and it worked like a charm. I took it again this time, and it didn’t work. I’m so confused as to why. My symptoms over the last couple of weeks after taking clindamycin, and because of having BV, have included frequent peeing, burning while peeing, irregular bleeding, itching around my labia, bladder discomfort similar to a UTI, on and off odor, on and off cramps associated with the bleeding, etc. I also had a thick, white discharge that went away within a few days, and I think that this was the medicine leaving my body, but I don’t know for sure. I also had diarrhea last night, but I don’t know if it’s a reaction to the medicine, or just because I had Mexican for dinner. 😅 Anyways, I need all of the advice that I can get! I’m a severe hypochondriac. My only options are home remedies- along with metronidazole, clindamycin AGAIN, and tinidazole. I’m scared of the side effects, so if you have any experience with one of these medications and having BV,
•Which medicine should I take?
•Which probiotics should I take?
•Are there any at-home remedies I can try?
•What is causing my BV, and how can I prevent it from happening again?
