Talk about the past
My parents used to fight when I was young. I wanted to know if you had counseling for your trauma what did they recommend to heal from that what are healthy coping skills.
My parents used to yell and they had arguments I would freeze up hide in a closet and rock myself until everything was done no more fighting I'd get up and everything was alright again and I'm an adult and whenever there's someone angry aggressive argumentative I go to my room usually I avoid conflict I watch a movie, read a book, but today I sat in bed rocking myself and I felt small how I was when I was younger and I was frozen until I felt safe I stayed there what are ways to get out of that I shut it out when people start screaming yelling I tune it out and that's what I do with people in the house I tune them out
