Had a miscarriage

How long does the HCG to drop after a miscarriage. I know test will come back positive, the hospital thinks I passed the pregnancy tissue but my test are coming back darker. The hospital said where my levels were only 48 that it should go down quickly. Got another blood test to see if they’ve completely dropped.
