Should I change OBs?
24 weeks along and I love my OB group. It’s a group of 3 doctors, a midwife and an NP. I know them all and the practice is super efficient, so kind, always answers their calls and clean and modern. However it is an hour from me. They delivered my first and she has a rare chromosome abnormality. I had an okay vaginal delivery but my daughter wasn’t breathing at birth. She’s fine now and my baby so far has been healthy with no issues so we don’t anticipate another traumatic delivery. My only concern is that since I loved so far, I would have to drive an hour to the hospital. I was seeing another OB before them and she was very nice! Loved her but I am not sure how their practice does the delivery rotation. Plus she’s the only female in a team of 4 or 5 and I just don’t feel comfortable with a man delivering my baby (don’t ask why I just don’t. All my obgyns have been female). This one is closer to me, about 20-25 mins and the hospital is closer as well. Plus that hospital is much more modern and comfortable. I just don’t know what to do! What would you ladies do? Switch or stay??
