This is our 4th pregnancy, and it’s been a rollercoaster the last couple weeks since finding out we were pregnant. According to my last cycle, I should be 7 weeks today. However, I don’t track ovulation and could’ve ovulated later than expected, especially since my cycles have become a little irregular the last 6 or so months.

My OB has been monitoring my hCG levels since I have had a missed miscarriage and two chemical pregnancies in the past. My husband ended up taking me to the emergency room this last Wednesday due to passing clots/bleeding heavily and having horrible pain, and they’ve officially ruled out an ectopic pregnancy after doing a laparoscopic surgery. They tried doing ultrasounds first, but they couldn’t find anything (no gestational sac or anything).

My hCG levels have been doubling perfectly up until my stay in the hospital. I will list them below:

12/12/22 — 32.2

12/14/22 — 68.3

12/16/22 — 155.4

12/17/22 — 274.2

12/19/22 — 613.3

12/21/22 — 1964

12/22/22 — 2242

12/23/22 — 2463

My OB basically told me that he thinks I am experiencing a threatened miscarriage (especially since my levels didn’t double from 12/21 to 12/23). He wants me to have my hCG checked again this coming Tuesday (12/27) to see if they continue to increase and will order an ultrasound for next week if so.

Needless to say, I am very stressed and anxious. Can anyone give me some insight? Has anyone experienced bleeding, clotting, and pain in early pregnancy and was able to carry to term?
