Should George Santos be made to stand down as a soon to be Congressman?

So remember how Elizabeth Warren said she was Native American and republicans hit the roof and called her Pocahontas. Well George Santos pretended to be Jewish. He even said his Jewish Grandparents fled Nazi Germany. They were born in Brazil and were Catholics.

It’s not an apt or fair comparison with Elizabeth Warren. She said she had indigenous ancestry, which DNA showed was correct. It just wasn’t as much as she thought. 
This guy totally made up a story about recent family members surviving the holocaust. He also lied about:
His college degree 
His work experience
Losing employees in the Pulse nightclub shooting
Running a charity 
Owning rental properties and losing money due to Covid protections 
Who knows what the hell else. 
He won’t step down, and conservatives will continue to defend him just like other abhorrent members of their party, like Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene, and of course Trump. It’s all just so unsurprising at this point.

As someone who lives on Long Island he needs to step down.  This wasn’t “embellishment” or a misunderstanding of information, he straight up lied to win a policial position.  If this was private sector and this information came up during his background check the offer would be rescinded immediately.

I think comparing their situations is not really the issue but rather this dude lied about his whole resume. He said he graduated from a specific university and then turns out he didn't graduate from any college. He said he worked for a company and he used it for an example of his experience and skill set amd he never worked there. The made the Jewish comments which I think everyone can agree are wrong. Any other job you lie about your education and work history you lose your job...at a minimum I think a runoff would be appropriate. The fact he justified it by saying he was sorry if anyone was upset with his "embellishments" but lots of people embellish their resume as a way to try and brush it off is an issue. If he is willing to lie so easily about things so easily fact check-able and something so morally wrong what won't he be willing to lie about and how often will it happen. The people who voted him in that cared about his credentials and experience and background were directly lied to and he has offended and also directly lied to a group to get their votes and build his story. Let voters re-vote knowing his actual resume in my opinion.

I want to know where he got all the money and how it was funneled through his apparently fake multi million dollar business. At this point it's not even clear he's an American citizen. 
If the only mechanism your system of government has to remove an elected official is to ask them nicely to resign or have the criminal enterprise gop refuse to seat him then you have a fundamental flaw in your system.
