My boy is here!
I went in for my 39 week appointment yesterday morning at 10:00, I was dilated to 5cm! They have been checking my fluid since 36 weeks due to it being on the lower side.. yesterday it was at 3.2 cm but I had an induction scheduled for this morning at 6am.. I went home and got a call that they would be canceling my induction due to short staffing. I asked how they could do that with my fluid being critically low and they changed me to a medical induction and told me to be at the hospital at 6am. Around 5:00pm I started having contractions. We live an hour from the hospital so I once they started coming every 3-4 minutes I told my husband we should go on to the er since this was my 5th baby and I was dilated to 5cm already. We got to the ER and they hooked me up to the monitors but my contractions weren’t picking up. I’ve done this a time or two so I knew I wasn’t crazy! Once the er doctor read my chart and saw how low my fluid had been he went ahead and admitted me. They moved me up to a room and my contractions started coming quicker and much more intense! They finally got my blood drawn and called for the anesthesiologist to come give my epidural. When he came in the room and they sat me up to get it started I felt the insane urge to push and couldn’t stop! I told them he was coming and I couldn’t wait. They laid me back without doing the epidural and my sons head was out! I pushed 4 times and he was here! He’s a perfect 7lb 13oz baby boy and I couldn’t be more relieved to have our family complete!! 💙💙
