Contractions?

This is my third baby but I cant remember what contractions feel like. 
I’ve been having cramping in my lower abdomen and my stomach gets really tight. It kind of feels like I have trapped gas or something. Im 39 weeks

I’m feeling the same thing right now, I’m hoping it’s contractions 😅 this is my second baby I remember with my first it clearly felt like period cramps.

That sounds exactly like how my contractions felt! The tight/hard stomach is definitely a contraction. Painless ones are braydon hicks. But cramps/pains/period pains definitely indicate labour!

My sister just had her baby on the 29th. She described the very early contractions she had at home when her water broke as similar to menstrual cramps.
