Birthing sitting up?

Question

Has anyone birthed sitting up? Or even sitting on your partners lap? 
Does it help make it easier and faster birth? 
What’s your opinions on it?

Answer

I had two home water births. With my first I was in a lunge, with my second I was on both knees.
I can’t compare it to a birth lying down because I’ve never done that, but physiologically, lying on your back with your knees spread creates the smallest pelvic opening.

I give birth lying on my side with my first and on my back with my second and I can honestly say my first was so so much easier than my second.

I birthed sitting up in the water, can’t compare it to lying down as I’ve not done it but I cannot imagine giving birth lying down, it’s the last thing I wanted to do during labour.
