Has anyone left Southern California?

Question

Thinking about leaving Southern California…anyone who’s done this, did you regret it after you moved or was it the right decision? Any insight would be great!

All of my friends that have left, regret it. But the crappy part is, they can't move back because of the difference in prices and pay. Yeah, cheaper prices elsewhere is appealing but that's also how you get stuck wherever you go. Cheaper COL translates to less pay too.

Haha I’m born and raised in SoCal… 40 years now and I’ve wanted to leave for years! It is my home and my husband and I can’t seem to let go, but the politicians sure give us more of a reason everyday.  Now it is the natural gas prices that will now triple our gas bill that make us want to leave more! Our family is here, so it’s really hard to leave somewhere where our family has been established for generations!

I'm from SoCal and moved outside of Atlanta over a decade ago. It's a toss up. There are absolutely things I miss about California and I do still feel homesick for it sometimes, but it's so much cheaper where I am now. I have a 4 bedroom house for what my sister is paying for a 1 bedroom apartment.
