Stabbing pains while pregnant

Hello ladies I’m 22 weeks today and I’m experiencing severe stabbing pains above my belly button, as well as vomiting and diarrhea. It’s making me feel super sick. The pain comes in waves this started yesterday. I called an on call OB they basically told me it could be what I’m eating and that I should stick to toast, banana, or apple sauce. And to come in tomorrow to have my gallbladder checked. Has anyone else experienced this and might know what could potentially be causing this pain?
