What’s the Solution to the Police problem in America?

We obviously have all watched or heard about the horrific murder of Tyre Nichols by Police, at the time it was just meant to regular traffic stop that escalated to a brutal murder. 2022 was a record year for the amount of civilians being killed by the police. Billions has been spent of body cameras, training, diversity training. Yet nothing prevents this from happening again. The police should never be the judge, jury and executioner. What are the solution to the issue? Tyre Nicholas loved skateboarding and photography. He was a father as well. He was 29 years old.

The solution is to LISTEN TO COMMUNITIES OF COLOR THAT HAS BEEN SCREAMING TO DEFUND THE POLICE AND REBUILD IT FOR DECADES!!! We have literally been telling people the answer, it's just a matter of when will America finally listen to us?

The police system was built upon racism and its trickled down to modern policing as evidenced by the gang like mentality that is ever present in the police force. It needs to be completely restructured with the right people as officers because the gang mentality has got to go.

I wrote out a list on here just the other day about some possible solutions. I don’t want to retype them, but it’s really all bandaids anyway. 
The defund the police movement got the spirit right, although I’m afraid it left the general public with the idea that they just wanted total anarchy. 
More specifically we need to defund, remove, restructure, reallocate, rebuild. That just doesn’t hashtag as nicely.

We need to rework the entire system. And yes it needs to be defunded which needs to be renamed because people are hearing "defund" and thinking that means no police at all which is not true at all. Defund the police was a catch phrase that took over because it is easier to say than "reallocation of general funds to spread across other services to better serve the community with trained professionals to respond to some things instead of regular cops ". We need to get the people who should be in the right positions at the top and it needs to be torn down and reworked as a collaborative effort. Communities of all backgrounds need a seat at the table as well as mental health professionals, medical communities, law enforcement, politics, schools, etc. This isn't gonna get fixed by 1 person or 1 narrow group changing it. It needs to be widespread and the communities that are often the ones who currently are disproportionately negatively effective also need a day in how to fix it. It also needs to be worked on in how incarnation goes and police and the prison system are intertwined. Fixing it won't take a few months or a year which is where issues never get solved in the usa because it seems if it isn't instant results it is dumped or ignored. It might take 5 yrs to see big change and a decade or more to actual see tangible consistent change but putting it off doesn't help anything. We need to start now amd 1st step is to get rid of every person who shouldn't have a badge, required more training/schooling, and have very strict and consistent oversight so a cop doesn't get a slap on the wrist or even worse a handshake after something despicable happens.

On the 2022 list for the world’s most dangerous countries, the USA ranks 35th most dangerous out of 163 counties.  (https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-dangerous-countries). That is startling.
The culture of violence, which is linked to power, needs to be addressed.  To me, this is just so engrained in the American identity now though and any pushback is just met with powerful psychopaths creating even more psychotic systems.  
In the first 25 days of 2023, there have been 40 mass shootings (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64377360.amp).  Also startling.  
I believe in order to reduce the amount of harm that violent individuals are creating we need to take away their weapons (guns) and their power (which includes their money & employment - police, judges, etc.) in order to change the culture and identity.

We need a complete overhaul of the systems in place that allow this to keep happening. 
We need people to figure out that hoping something changes isn’t going to make it change.

Defund and divert resources to community engagement and social work. Demilitarize the police. Harsher punishments and zero tolerance for police brutality. Require 4 year degrees and certifications in order to become a cop. Classes to address systemic racism within the police force. Dismantle the whole damn fraternity and build it up again with officers who are educated and understand the socioeconomic issues of the communities they serve. Better funding for inner city schools and stop the school to prison pipeline. Create labor laws that benefit workers and decrease poverty and increase opportunity. Publicly fund higher education to increase opportunity and decrease poverty. 
This is a complex issue that requires a multilayered response. Poverty rates are higher among POC, poverty is correlated with crime, police are going to have a higher presence in high crime areas and theyre more likely to get away with police brutality in poor areas because those in poverty  have less access to resources that help them fight against systemic abuse of power. The police system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt and the US needs to do a LOT more to address inequality and to create a more equitable society.

I am from the UK so have no idea what the American system is like. 
I understand it is a massive country, like one state is the size of the UK so I cannot really say my thoughts as I just do not know. 
I have heard about this story, it is vile and disgusting I havent been able to watch the video footage. Watching murders is not what I find fun. 
I hope any person in power who behaves this way should be murdered. Honestly.
