Should I follow up with the lawyers
I had lawyers on my case earlier this week, wanting me to remove a "defamatory post" on Facebook, that I posted after yet another issue with a former service provider.
I issued cancellation with them in June 2022 for end July 2022, due to us moving, all perfectly legal and within our laws to cancel contracts. They continued to bill me for monthly services for threw months after we cancelled, and because it was a fixed address service they even tried to lie and pretend that I confirmed we still lived there in an attempt to cover up their mistake.
I stopped paying due to this, send numerous emails that went unanswered, called and left messages for people who never called back. Then after two months since I last years from them, I got handed over to debt collectors.
So I posted on FB looking for the owner, calling his company incompetent and that I needed an urgent response.
Some lady there, obviously their customer relationship manager, did a very poor job at trying to pacify me and came back to me claiming the owner has offered to clear our account if I remove my post on Facebook. I said no, and that my right to freedom if speech can't be bought and that we have wasted thousands due to them (we left equipment at the old place that we ultimately had to pay for, thus own, but they never told us until months after we left. Had they processed the cancellation properly and communicated property as to what we were supposed to do with the equipment, we could have taken it (because we were initially told, upon signing up, that if we leave the equipment stays onsite)).
The next day, I had their lawyers phone and email me asking for my side of the story. So I gave it to them and sent them proof of all my correspondence as to why I said they were incompetent. I sent them the whole story and all my written communication to the company.... And I haven't heard from them since.
I don't know if I should be happy because it obviously means they concede that I'm right (otherwise I would have had an immediate response like last time), or concerned that they are trying to fabricate evidence against me (as they have done before).
Should I send a follow up, asking them to confirm receipt of my email and trust that they find that my post is not defamatory?
