Do you feel that pitocin contributes to wanting an epidural?

I was induced with pitocin with my first and needed an epidural, they also were giving me too high of a dosage at that time and ended up having to turn it down because it was causing too many contractions too close together. 
I wasn’t induced with my second and I didn’t any medication whatsoever for pain.

Yes! I’ve had three babies and my last one I had a small amount of pitocin when I was in “labor”. I was 39 weeks 8 days & 7cm dilated with contractions that were full blown labor contractions but then started to become less intense and started to space out. It was so odd! So my doctor said she was just give me a touch of pitocin. It was awful. I’ve had an all natural birth with my first baby and those contractions made me feel like I was going to die, BUT the pitocin made me feel like I was being hit by a train and dying then coming back lol 
Also, even after birth contractions lasted a lot longer and were far more painful than my previous labor and deliveries. 
I hope I never have to have that stuff again!!!

For me, yes.. but not because the contractions were unbearable. I was exhausted from the length of the labor & knew I wouldn’t be able to push unless I got sleep.. and sleep was not going to happen with contractions going on, so that is why I got the epidural (both times) when I was induced.

The pitocin contractions are terrible. I literally couldn’t breathe and they were constant. When I naturally went into labor I handled the contractions extremely well. It didn’t actually hurt really bad until baby was crowning. That hurts. 😂

Honestly I could have went without the epidural because it didn’t even work with the pitocin.

I felt like it did because I barely felt any pain or anything at first then when i was put on pitocin the pain started and kept getting worse and worse I didn't want the epidural but it was to the point where I was restless and in pain with nothing helping (ball or tub or different positions) and they told me it would help combat the contractions and help me relax and dilate quicker. 
My daughter's aunt who is in nursing school said it was due to pitocin and I could have asked for them to shut it off because her sister did and had a natural birth 😑

Pitocin contractions were horrible for me, so yes I needed the epidural.

There have been studies about this. It is more common to get an epidural if you had pitocin. Pitocin makes the contractions really strong and erratic and eventually unbearable for a lot of women
