My breast milk came in, should I pump or not?

I woke up this morning and noticed clear fluid coming from my nipples . I was freaked out but contacted my OB and apparently it’s a normal color for colostrum . Im 25+5 and this is the first time I have been leaking lol. Can I pump my breast milk, and should I ? Or just leave it alone

Leave it alone until they say it’s safe to hand express or anything else. Messing with it now can cause contractions.

This is not your milk coming in. Milk production doesn’t start until after the placenta has detached. You may be leaking colostrum, but that’s not the same thing.
You could wear shells to catch the leaks, but it is not recommended to use suction (electric or manual pumps) while pregnant.

No you can’t start pumping at 25 weeks! That’s how you start preterm labor. Use milk collector cups without suction to collect the colostrum. No hand expressing either.

Yes leave it alone, start wearing breast pads if you need to. Most physicians won't suggest pumping or hand expressing until 38 weeks.
