Did any of you ladies experience heart palpitations during or after pregnancy? I first started experiencing them during pregnancy and I’m now four weeks postpartum and I have them still also. I was told that the reason why I had them during pregnancy is because of the extra blood that I’m having to hold and therefore my heart has to pump harder. And then I was also reading that your body takes time to get back to normal after pregnancy, and your blood volume is still trying to regulate so I figured that is why I was still having them. I have seen that a lot of pregnant women have had this symptom. I just wanted to know how many of you ladies have experienced them and if you did when did they go away? I went to my primary care physician and she said it sounded normal, but just to be on the safe side she referred me to a cardiologist who I will be seeing tomorrow. I’m nervous but not nervous because my primary physician told me that she wasn’t concerned, but I’m still just nervous about going to a specialist.
