How did you know you were done?

Question

Anyone who's done having kids did you just know? 
I thought I was done with three and I was looking into possibly getting my tubes tied after 3rd pregnancy. Now I am not sure I want something so permanent and could see myself having four 😂.

I have one and I'm done.  I know it.  We thought maybe two originally 6 years ago when we discussed it, but I'm sure of it.  It took 2 years to get pregnant. I had a hard pregnancy.  I'll be 38 in a few months.  I don't have a great relationship with my sister and my husband doesn't have a relationship at all with his brother.  Every time I think about what if I accidentally got pregnant I get anxious and sad and scared.  I don't want any more kids.  I know I can be a good mom to my daughter but I'm not sure I can be a good mom to more than one, I don't know that I could handle that. So I'll be the best mom I can be to the amazing kid I have.  People have been telling me eventually I'll feel differently but my daughter is almost 3 and the older she gets, the more I'm sure that I don't want another one.

🙈me too baby number 3 is 3 months but thinking 4 wouldn’t be so bad 😂 we previously thought 2 and done then we had a surprise pregnancy. Honestly it’s so hard to know I’d love more but we just can’t afford it these days. If your second guessing doing something permanent I’d say your not ready x

I have two. I'm done.
I'm done for several reasons. My pregnancies suck. My births are fast and intense and very uncomfortable (If you know what I mean. Because obviously a birth is never comfortable as such). My mental health is declining each time. My husband's mental health is struggling as well. Our relationship struggles as well. And honestly despite me making cute babies, I'm looking forward to being out of the baby stage forever. Makes going out easier, going on dates easier, we can go places with the kids easier, I can be more for my friends easier, I can be more for my family as well...
And now that I'm 7 months pp with my second my family seems complete. My two kids are absolutely amazing together. I feel my family is complete! 😊
