Anyone else gave birth early to a big baby?
hey guys! i’m a ftm and currently 35 weeks tomorrow and i just had my last ultrasound until i give birth a few days ago. i didn’t get any pictures since he’s facing my back so it would’ve just been the back of his head lol. i thought i was going to have a smaller baby since my side of the family has always been smaller babies but my fiancé (baby’s father) has always had big babies according to him but i still felt like my son was so small. plus at my anatomy scan he measured slightly small. still normal range, but slightly on the small side so i thought it’d continue like that. well everything about my son right now is measuring at a range of 37 weeks to 38 weeks. my obgyn got a little shocked and said he’s got a big head lol. his head circumference is 33.23cm. he’s currently estimated to be 7lbs right now. she said if he gets too big then i’ll have to be induced but for sure i can’t go past my due date. she also wants to check my cervix in a couple weeks to see if it’s getting ready for labor or not. i’ve also been experiencing a lot of lighting crotch lately or just painful pressure down there since yesterday afternoon/last night to today but a lot of it was last night. i’ve had some slight cramps today as well with back pain but no braxton hicks though, i’ve only had that once after sex a month or two ago but haven’t felt it since. i’ve also felt slightly nauseous every once and a while since a few days ago too. i only started worrying about the lightening crotch when my mom (adopted mom, biological grandma) said she didn’t feel any contractions when she gave birth, just a lot of lighting crotch for a few days and pressure, exactly what i’ve been feeling. i’m still not too worried about giving birth right now, but after hearing and seeing how big he is already, makes me feel like i might give birth early. plus i’ve had a weird gut feeling he’ll arrive early even before i knew my son is a big baby. i also have hishimotos hypothyroidism and my levels have been weird lately which my endocrinologist says it shouldn’t be like that, and my disease can cause preterm labor. i’m not sure if he’s normal or pretty big for 35 weeks. have any of you guys experienced this too and ended up going into labor early? what do y’all think? i was super shocked when she said he was big. he’s also in the 96.3 percentile for his size. some of his features (like his abdominal circumference) is in the 98th percentile.
