Are painful periods a bad sign when ttc?

Ugh I am so disappointed. Started a few days early and now I am in so much pain I don't even want to get out of bed. Does anyone else experience really painful, sometimes extremely heavy periods? I am worried I haven't been able to conceive an this is related but my gyno won't help me out at all!

Yeah I think I am going to make an appointment tomorrow, I can tolerate some cramping but this just doesn't feel normal.

You should absolutely go to a different doctor. Painful periods, the kind that keep you in bed, can be a sign of endometriosis. Endometriosis is treatable. But if not treated, can certainly delay conception. Please do speak to a specialist who won't brush your very good questions under the table. Best of luck.

Ok I had just seen before that they can be a sign of fertility issues. My doctor just kinda brushed over it when I asked. I do have a 5 year old and before I was pregnant with him they were becoming unbearable then they were ok and in the last year it has gotten awful again. My doc told my to start taking aleve a few days before. Luckily she moved away so now I can stay with the same doctors office but get a new doctor.

My cycles are sometimes very painful usually only the first day though. I get very sick and sometimes I'm okay and it's bearable. My gyn also didn't give me much to go on for help but she advised to take medicine the day before my expected period to help with the pain. She did not say it could prevent me
From ttc or have anything to do with not being able to. I plan on getting a different doctor for my pre conception appointment.
