UTI after sex everytime??

Question

After my man and I are intimate the next day I feel like I start getting a UTI. I go to the bathroom right after intercourse and use a wet wipe made for women after using the bathroom so I feel pretty clean after.. Anyone ever experience this and if so have you been able to fix the problem?

That happened to me for about 6 months straight. I'm a nurse and don't get to pee whenever I want, thought I had uti and took antibiotics but my dr told me I had cystitis and shouldn't take antibiotics. He gave me a small dose steroid and an anti inflammatory called toradol; that was 3 years ago and it hasn't happened since :-)

My only thought is maybe something in the wet wipes-- I know in baby wipes they put things you'd never expect like chlorine, so maybe a chemical in the wipes is irritating you.

Maybe it's something in your SO diet? I'm not sure if it's what you're describing (I've never had a uti before) but sometimes after sex I will get a burning sensation on the outside from his semen and even while peeling it stings and I'm sensitive for the rest of the night. I now make my hubby drink a lot more water and eat less acidic things. It hasn't happened in a little bit now.

Try a cranberry supplement. I used to have the same problem, but haven't for 8 months with a cranberry pill every day.

Going to the toilet beforehand can also help because it reduces the friction and irritability. If you have cranberry juice or take a Ural sachet each week that may help too.

No not like shower when you're about to have sex, we're just both people that shower at night and that helps, or have sex in the shower..haha but mostly peeing right after sex.

Ha showers before sex?? We aren't the set schedule for sex kinda people so I would have to pause when we are in the mood to shower?? Sounds like it would be difficult and I already pee immediately after :(

I have taken antibiotics.. I've even seen a urologist and all they did was give me more antibiotics.. So I was like obviously that doesn't help and didn't see that dr again but I'm thinking I should see another one because I am getting them quite frequently if you know what I mean ;) lol thanks for the comments though.. I'm new here but this seems like an amazing place

Showers before sex help. And going pee immediately after sex. I used to have the same problem and now I always go pee immediately after and haven't had one in two years!

I've found drinking lots of water and peeing after sex helps but if it's an ongoing thing see your dr because a course of antibiotics may help?
