Did anyone have the nuchal translucency screening?

Did your insurance cover it? If not, how much did it cost? And during what week did you have it done? Thx!

I just got mine done. I was 13 weeks exact. My insurance covered it fully. I honestly just got it done to see my baby on ultrasound before 20 weeks :p

Wow we are so lucky in the UK, honestly everything I read about US health care and needing insurance to cover everything sounds terrible. We totally take the National Health Service for granted here, if we are sick we go see a doctor and get medicine, even our prescriptions are free in Scotland! 
​Sorry that was all off topic! I got the Nuchal screening test at my 12 week scan, they measure part of the neck, it's like a space where there is fluid between the base of the skull and the spine or somewhere near there. There is a huge variation in every child, but in Downs babies it tends to be thicker. They also check something in your blood then I got a letter about 2 weeks later saying there's around a 1 in 16500 chance of our baby having some form of Downs. So it's not a yes or no answer, but worth doing I think for a little peace of mind.

I live in USA and in our ultrasound at 12 w and 2 days the neck thickness is measured as 3.01 mm and 2.95 mm respectively. The additional blood tests for baby DNA came back with a risk value of lower than 1/ 10000 for trisomie 13, 31 and 18. We prayed a lot and God helped us! Keep your hopes up and pray! God is the Generous!

I also did it .. I got 1 in 49,000 for Down syndrome and 1 in 100,000 for trisomy 18

I'm having mine next Wednesday. Insurance isn't covering it for us but it will go towards the deductable which needs to be paid before we deliver. So we figured we are going to have to pay that money either way, mind as well get what we can.
