What is going on with my hormones?!

CD16 today, had positive OPKs yesterday and this morning, afternoon's test is negative. Been TTC for a year now after being on BCP for 10 years. I have very light, short and very regular periods, get cramps around ovulation and very rarely, and if so very minor, when AF is due. This month with my ovulation I have had very light spotting for the first time, but have been very emotional and literally crying my eyes out all day over the tiniest thing, what is going on?!?
