when to take metformin??

I ovulated on the 9th should I wait to see if im pregnant before taking or should I start anyway? is there a better time to start taking it like after a period? thanks

I've been on mine for a month tomorrow. Everyday. My dr told me to take it everyday 1 x then the next week 2x then at 3 weeks I take it 3x a day now. Just had to get my body use to it.
