Fertility Drugs

When do you think it's a good time to start thinking about fertility drugs, extra help? Speaking with my doctor earlier and she said after 6 months she let's her patients start exploring some helpful prescriptions. She said most doctors say to wait 12 months, but she knows how anxious people can be and 12 months is a long time to wait. I am in my fourth month now of trying. Have any of you tried looking into fertility help after six months? Did you wait longer? Thanks
