How did you tell your family?

Question

My husband already knows, but my family comes up here to visit in a few weeks and I am trying to think of the best way to tell/surprise them!

We live in a different state than the rest of our family and we planned on sending our immediate family a cute announcement after my first appointment which is on Monday when we had an ultrasound and knew things were going well. 
​But, while we were on vacation visiting our family, I had major bleeding and my husband and mother in-law had to take me to the ER and then my parents, his dad, and both of our sisters, found out over the phone when my husband called to let them know what was going on. 
​Now most of our family knows. Not at all how we planned it, but everyone was happy for us and excited once we got over the scare of my ER trip and the doctor told us that I wasn't miscarrying.

We made a video slide show for my FIL and MIL. We were on vacation with them and my other in-laws. The video was a Father's Day video with pictures of all the grand kids throughout the years and at the very end I wrote, "as fate would have it, this family is not done growing yet." With a picture of a positive test and the due date. They were all so excited!

We told our moms on Mother's Day by putting baby items and the ultrasound pic in a bag. 6 wks later we told our grandparents by giving them an ultrasound picture with a card saying "celebrate great grandparents!" It was so cute :)

My oldest sister an I knew already.. We'll earlier today we were in the car with my other sister and she was telling us how she told my aunt she was going to start TTC'ing soon and she said my aunt fussed her because she doesn't get married until Monday.. I am currently engaged.. After my sister finished talking I shouted well what's she going to do when she finds out I am! She freaked out and started crying an pinching herself too wake up lol wish I could have gotten it on video!
