how long did it take for you to get pregnant after taking the depo shot

I have been off the depo shot for over 6 months. from what I read it takes about 6-18 months to really get out of your system. last month i guess you can say I had my first period 22-27th of june. my ovaries have been feeling funny for the pass few days hoping I start to bleed. I have already found a sperm doner but not sure if I should start now or wait until my menstrual start.... please help
