Is washing your hair every day a bad idea?

My scalp is really oily so I have to wash it at least every other day if not every day. I've tried to go no-poo for 2 months but that made everything worse. So I stick with Johnson's baby shampoo :)

My hair is thin and used to be sooo oily so i tried co washing which I felt was a good idea bc I wasn't using shampoo but it made my hair look and feel weird then I started using a shampoo bar that my bf gave me for Christmas from sheaterra, I think, and it made it feel like straw but I kept using it bc I read your hair has to adjust. But then I saw a girl talking about chagrin valley soap and salve on tumblr and I bought some samples and I am in love with their products!!!! My hair isn't oily any more and I can go a couple days with out washing and my hair is stronger and looks good :)

The more you wash it the more it needs washing, if can take out alot of the natural oils in your hair/scalp x

I wash every other day, sometimes every third day. My hair used to get really oily because I washed it every day and it got "used" to that. It felt kind of greasy at first when I skipped days, but adjusted within a month.

It also heavily depends on your shampoo scalp and conditioning regiment. I use lush and am able to go 3-4 days between washing it due to the natural and non-phosphorus ingredients!

Typically you can 2-3 days without washing your hair. The oil from your scalp travels don't your hair. Therefore, if you have thick, curly or longer hair, the natural oil tends to take longer to go down. If you have Short or oily hair and MUST wash everyday, try using a mild shampoo or a shampoo with conditioner in it :)
