Thoughts about Having a Midwife?

I am pondering if I should have one if I am pregnant. Will they deliver babies at the hospital? Can I still have an epideral? Share your experiences !

My best friend used a midwife and I'm currently going to the same one! Most midwives have a partnership with certain doctors and hospitals. Midwives take care of low risk pregnancies and deliveries. But if they have ANY issues they have an OBGYN on call. I feel like the midwife experience is much more personal. They tend to be more about the experience than the medicine. My midwife is so awesome. I don't have my BFP (yet) but I still go to her because it's an awesome experience!

I had a midwife for both of my pregnancies. It was a good experience. I delivered in a hospital, and while both times my birth plan was to do it naturally, the midwife was very respectful of my choice

to get an epidural. It's not much difference from an obgyn other than they won't turn to any medical interventions like an epi, c section, inducing, or episiotomy unless it is absolutely necessary.
