TTC after having pid

I'm 20 and me and my partner have been together for 5 years we already have a 2 1/2 year old son and would love for him to have a sibling. I recently came down with PID which is pelvic inflammatory diesease and ended up in hospital. I've since read that it can effect your chances of fertility which obviously is scary. Has anyone else had this and gone on to have kids??
