Is the death penalty right?

Is it right to kill another human being for the sake of justice? Is it a double standard to kill for killing? It can't bring loved ones back, so does it really make a difference in the eyes of justice?

I don't think so. I believe that when someone is put to death due to the death penalty, that the people who are putting that person to death are also being murders. They are just repeating the cycle. And I sure don't agree with the criminals that get sentanced for the horrible things they have done. I just think it would be more affective to be sentanced to life imprisonment. Hell, I mean if I was sentanced for death or for life in prison I'd rather just die. And I figure that's 90% of people if they were in that situation. Why give these people what they want if they are really that horrible. Also, what about the people that were proven innocent after the fact. How sad.

The person who kills someone deserves to die the same way. Someone is at a loss. The murdered person can't kill the murderer themselves. An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth. Jail is too lenient.

I'd prefer to watch someone slowly rot to death in a jail cell feeling sorry for what he's done to be there then have the easy way out.

I believe that a person who commits a serious crime (ex: stabbing someone multiple times, rape) should have the same thing done to them. I know it sounds harsh but what about the person who got raped or stabbed. It's justice...

"He who seeks revenge digs two graves". My favorite quote from 'The Life of David Gale' movie. It's about the death penalty. I don't agree with it. Though housing a prisoner for life cost 10x more the amount of money than it cost to put a child through basic schooling, I dint think anyone should play grim reaper, even if the guilty person killed someone else.

In some cases, I feel it is necessary. There are some prisoners in maximum security prisons that if they got out, would kill more people. Why should we have our tax money going to heating/feeding these people when they took someone else's life or lives? That money could go to way better places like schools.

From what I have seen, people on death row die better deaths than half the deaths I see in ICU. I also believe that what you do to other people should be done to you, but society is so caught up on being politically correct that it inadvertently says it's okay to do whatever you want to people because you'll never starve, have amazing healthcare, and will always have a home. Meanwhile we have the victims that are either dead or forever handicapped.

I had a cousin who was raped, then strangled to death. She was 8 years-old. 
​I think families who haven't had someone in their family killed wouldn't understand. But the man who killed my cousin has been on death row for almost 21 years now. His time is supposedly soon. Doubt it, though.
