First period after IUD insertion?

I've been bleeding/spotting for 9 days now and it's so annoying!!! How long were your periods after you had your IUD insterted? When will it stop being so long?!

I have the Marana. When I first got mine I was out of wack, so keep all your needs and back ups on hand. Around month 6th, if not sooner, everything will begin to get lighter to the point it's not there. I think I had a period once every 6 months, and my skin looked pretty nice if I do say so myself. ☺️ You get used to it.. And actually kinda forget about it. You may spot every once in a while, but it's usually nothing a basic liner can't cover. But, I think you'll fall in love with it too. ?    Good Luck!!

I bled for almost three months straight, then had one normal period, and now I'm at cycle day 43 with no period. Haha.

I got the Mirena put in on the first of this month and today was the first day that I haven't had fairly severe cramps in the afternoon. Still spotting, still have sore boobs, and I've noticed a slight increase in acne. Hopefully the cramping is done now since I got the damn thing to tame my periods without going back on the pill.
