No! Because you still don't know where you will be or how much you are going to change in the future. Beside, everybody nowadays has a tattoo and no longer seems so cool or different as it used to be.   By the time you are in your 20s you might have become an actor or a model, a scientist or maybe tattoos are just going to be a thing of the past.  Wait until you grow into a complete adult.

It depends. I got my first at 17, just a couple months before I turned 18. It's the All Time Low skull and crossbones. Anyway..it was kinda spur of the moment. Since then I made a rule that I can't get a tattoo until I have thought about it for a year. In high school I wrote my ideas in my note books with the date by them and now I use the notes on my phone. Let me tell you, it has saved me from getting some pretty stupid tattoos.

​I do recommend getting it somewhere not all out in the open or a small one so that you can still get jobs and if it's small and in 20 years if you hate it it can always be covered or transformed into something new.

​Also don't let the tattoo artist take over. That happened with my first and when I wanted it black I had to get it in color or he wouldn't do it. Don't let that happen to you.

If it is okay with your parents, done in a shop that uses clean, sterile equipment and you are sure that it is what you want for the rest of your life. Do not get it done in someone's house. Go to a legit shop with an experienced artist. My first tattoo was at 17 and I recently got it covered up 11years later, it was done in someone's house and just wanted a tattoo and hated it from day 1. I'm happy that it's covered but don't put yourself in that position! Make sure the person doing the tattoo is good!
