Are you ever ready for a baby?

I got married 2 weeks ago to my partner of 6.5 yrs. We both have good jobs and a nice house and are relatively financially stable.  We always said once we were married we would start trying for our 1st child but now the time is here I'm a bit nervous.  I can't imagine my life without children and some days when I think about it I'm excited at the prospect.  Other days I worry about it being too soon and the pressure it will put on our relationship potentially and on my career as well as finances.
