When to set up a doctor appt?

I'm confused over this whole new thing.  How long after a missed period should you call a dr? I've heard some won't see you till you've missed 2 periods? Do you set it up at health dept or like a woman's clinic if you have insurance?

It depends where you live for what the main practice is. Here in sk canada for my first I went to my GP right away and went for blood work and got a referral sent to my obgyn. And around 12 weeks I went for my ultrasound and first appointment with my obgyn. With my second pregnancy I wasn't in a hurry to go to my GP as I knew already that there wasn't a hurry(as long as there's nothing concerning going going on) I did go at 6 weeks for diclectin as I wasn't functioning well with the nausea. My GP made my ultrasound appointment (which they didn't do the 1st time) and I went at 10 weeks then I don't think I made it to my first obgyn appointment till 14 weeks... In the beginning the main thing is taking prenatals and living healthy☺
