Positive experience with fertility consult appointment!
As many struggles as we all go through in TTC, just wanted to post my recent positive experience. DH and I started initial fertility testing a few months ago and just had our first fertility consult as a couple with the doctor, a fertility/<a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>/OBGYN specialist.
Our issue is unexplained low sperm count with varicocele, all other test results are within normal range. Been TTC 3 years. I'm 31 years old and DH is 36. They did say that I may want to do a low dose of thyroid med for optimal pregnancy conditions if we do want to do <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>. (My TSH at last blood draw was 3.6 and they prefer under 2.5 for <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a>).
Anyway, just want to say that I encourage anyone interested to go ahead and schedule that consult if you've been putting it off. I was nervous about it and expecting to feel sad about our infertility issues afterwards, but I actually feel a lot of relief and optimism after being able to actually talk with a specialist and ask specific questions in person rather than doing my own stress-inducing research online all day.
Side note: if you're in an area or situation where you're considering Kaiser Permanente healthcare, that's who we've been going with and it's been great. I've been impressed by all my doctors.
