Wine during pregnancy?

My doctor said it was okay to occasionally have a glass of wine during my pregnancy. Is he for real?? Has anyone actually drank wine during their pregnancy? Isn't that dangerous for the baby?

I need to ask my doctor this, I think she'll get mad at me for even asking --- but DAMN HAVE I BEEN CRAVIN' SOME RED WINE LATELY!!! Lol--- still have like 8 months to go! Hahaha

My friends a midwife and she allways says the thing is they don't know how much is a safe amount to drink during pregnancy yet. So the only way to be absolutely certain is to not drink atall... Zero alcohol zero risk! :) hope that's helps a little x

The US is the only country that puts these kind of restrictions on pregnant women.  It makes me laugh how worked up people get. There is NO EVIDENCE OF ANY KIND that small amounts of alcohol can cause a baby any harm. The entire continent of Europe is your test group.

I definitely wouldn't do it. A lot of doctors say the odd small glass is ok. But I just wouldn't take the chance and don't know why anyone else would! You wouldn't give your baby wine if it was out of your womb like!! :)

I personally am trying to avoid any unnecessary risk. Like avoiding wine and hair dye. Anything i can do to avoid added risk.

If you ask 10 doctors how to put on a band-aid, you will be given 10 methods. Yes, they are educated but a lot of what they tell patients is personal opinion. Am I going to drink even a little red wine knowing it maaay be bad for my baby? Absolutely not. That doctor may have. Doesn't mean you should.

My doctor said a glass here and there is fine. In Europe they can have a glass a day. Let's no go buts ladies. Have one every 3-4 weeks, of a couple of ounces and you'll be fine. Obviously I don't recommend a daily glass. But let's no go crazy
