I went to the gyno about a month ago to get a pap smear. I'm 18 and she told me that anyone under 21can't get them done in Ga. A week ago, I had a friend whose mom is a nurse say that it doesn't matter what age you are and if you ask for one they're supposed to do it. Endometriosis, ovarian cancer and cysts run in my family and I have really sharp pains in my ovaries after my periods and have for a while now. I'm concerned because I want to start a family within the next few years. My fiance and I have unprotected sex for a year now (I'm almost 19 and am well aware of the struggles and things that come along with children..) and yet, still no baby. Should I talk to the same gyno again or find someone else to see about this? Of course we both plan on being checked for any issues, but I find it odd that I keep getting two stories about pap smears.
