Has anyone dealt with HPV?

I was diagnosed with HPV a year ago. My doctor told me there was nothing I could do, but to wait and check again. They said it wasn't serious, but I still am freaking out about it. I am too afraid to do anything sexual because of it. Has anyone else gone through this?  Will it really go away?

It will go away...if you were diagnosed even a couple years ago they would have you go under procedures like a colposcopy (or several) LEEPs or cone biopsies, all which clip "abnormal" tissue from your cervix. After doing all these, they come to find out they don't need to do any of that and it goes away. There are so many strains that you could have different types (they say 1 in 2 people have it and may not know) some cause abnormal cells in cervix (no treatment needed) and some cause genital wart (terrible to experience but treatable). Either way everything goes back to normal but it's possible to get a new strain from a new partner.

So there are many strains of HPV. 4 cause cancer. Just wait impatiently and more times than not your body will fight it off. I went through that and spent every day thinking I was gonna die lol and it ended up clearing up on its own

I was diagnosed with it 10 years ago. I had abnormal paps for a few years but it did go away. There are many strains, most are common and not serious. I haven't had an abnormal pap in 7 years. Don't worry.

I was diagnosed with it when I was 18. A year later when I went for my pap everything was normal and I've never had an abnormal pap since. It does sometimes clear up on its own.

It should be fine. Two of my sisters have it so it's crazy easy to get. Just make sure you're ALWAYS using protection like condoms. Guys can pass it on but not have symptoms. The women are the only ones that end up with problems. But of course it can go away. Don't stress. :)
