Anyone else? Or am I the only one

Question

Has anyone else had uterine rupture during labour? Complete tear and opening of old c section scar? I've never met anyone else this has happened too feel like I have no one who I can talk to about it.

Yes my son is now 4 and is healthy ? thank you, I'm 20 weeks and understandably nervous. They have booked me in for a c section at 38 + 5 a bit early because it would be dangerous for me to go into labour and start contracting as this would put pressure on the scar again and I don't want another blood transfusion!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I am nervous but I will be in the hospital for sure just incase. I'm so sorry this happened to you, it sounds horrible! But it's such a good thing that they caught it in time and that you and baby are happy and healthy!

Hi Tamara. It is scary and it is rare I was very unlucky. I was in labour for about 4 days, I was contracting but not dilating at all.  I was in hospital for extreme exhaustion and pain relief. On the 4th night they said they were going to do a planned c section in the morn, half hour later my waters broke stayed at 4cm for 5 hours then my scar ruptured. They can't say why, but I'm very small with a titled small pelvis. There's not really a reason why it happens I was just unlucky. I understand how nervous you are but they worked very quick and I was in the right place x

I was told by my midwives that it's only a 1 in 200 chance of happening. I'm terrified of this though!! I'm planning a VBAC in May and really hoping it goes well as I want to have more kids than is recommended for c sections, however it's less than 2 years between births and I had a uterus infection after the surgery. I'm just praying for a positive outcome. Do you know what happened during your labor for it to rupture?
