Spermicide?!?

I just got off the pill because it makes me feel depressed and weight gain... I just picked up some spermicide stuff we don't use condoms I was wondering if anyone knows how effective it is?or if anyone also uses it?

Spermicides often cause UTIs and yeast infections. I'd suggest talking with your doctor about another type of birth control pill, perhaps with less estrogen. (Estrogen can cause weight gain) Nuvaring works well for me, but everyone is different. Also, it's important to know that it takes your body about 3 months to become acclimated to the change in hormones when you take birth control. So be prepared to stick it out for that long.

Found this on planned parenthoods site on spermicides effectiveness.

If women always use spermicide as directed, 15 out of 100 will become pregnant each year.
If women don't always use spermicide as directed, 29 out of 100 will become pregnant each year.
When used alone, spermicide is not very effective. You can make it more effective if you also use a female condom.

Your partner can help you make spermicide more effective by using a latex condom or pulling out before ejaculation.
