Is 7 wks too early?

Question

I'm 7 wks tomorrow and have my first appointment on Thursday &I was planning on announcing on social networks then ( Facebook, Instagram). I have a friend who did it a 4 wks.

Do what you feel comfortable with. If by chance something happened, you would have to tell everyone. So as long as you are comfortable with telling everyone something like that, then I say it is fine to tell now. Keep in mind, the more people you tell, the more support you will have as well. So whatever you decide to do is your choice and will be the right time for you. If you to want to keep it quiet though, make sure to tell people who can keep it a secret. :) congrats to you!

I don't really do Facebook but we announced right away to family and let the news spread at will. Personally I don't see anything wrong w sharing! It's exciting! As long as you understand a mc is a possiblity and are comfortable sharing that in Facebook as well. Good luck momma wishing u a healthy baby!

Not to worry you at all but my OB said it was safest to announce after 12 weeks. From past experiences me and my hubby won't announce till then. But it's totally up to you!! Congrats!!

We told our families and close friends at 7 weeks but didn't make it FB "official" until 12 weeks.  We also had early testing done so we announced the gender at the same time!

I personally think it's too early for a Facebook announcement but that's because i have a lot of people ob there that I've known from childhood and don't really talk to now. I wouldn't want them all to know unless i was also okay with wanting their support if something unfortunately went wrong.  Instead,  I've told really close friends who have known my ttc struggle since i would want to turn to them in the case of any upsets. And I will tell my other family and friends that weren't apart of ttc journey once I'm in my second trimester and it's safer to do so. That's just me though!  I'm a private person as it is.  Everyone is different so do what feels right.

We announced on Facebook right after our first ultrasound. Our family and close friends knew as soon as I got my BFP. I think it's something to he celebrated when we've been trying for 2 years with an RE. And should something tragic happen ... Knock on wood... I know I will have people to support me. So many suffer in silence. I want to enjoy the time :)

It's completely up to you when you want to tell. I was 8 weeks with my first and 12 with my second. I never said "I'm waiting until I'm this far along before I annouce it." I always did it when it felt right. Things can go wrong at any point during pregnancy so of you want to shout from the rooftop go right ahead! :)

Like many people above, I'm in the do-what-you-want camp. That being said, I think it's silly not to wait until at least your second trimester. If I announce on fb, it won't be until I'm 6 months! My dad is a retired OB, who's delivered over 10k babies, and he cautions people to wait and announce.

I don't think it's too early in my opinion but I kinda want this to myself for hubby and for awhile and won't announce anything until our second trimester.
