When can I take my belly button piercing out?

I got my belly button pierced in July and just bought some new jewelry today. Can I switch them out, or should I wait longer?

With all my piercings, I cleaned them 2-3 times a day with salt water, and polysporin to use as a lubricant so I could move the piercing without it being painful, which also helped immensely with healing. I'd typically wait a month or so before switching a stud/ring/etc. as I'm allergic to most metals, but if that's not an issue you may not have to wait so long. By then you should be ready to change it, just make sure you do it quickly so it doesn't close, and clean it before you put it in (I usually just dipped mine in hydrogen peroxide, sometimes saltwater or soap and water, I tend to mix it up with how sensitive my skin feels).

I've had mine pierced for a while but a few months after I got it pierced (it was still a little sore when I messed with it too much) I went to the beach, and when I went home it was almost completely healed. I changed it a few weeks later with no problems. Salt water works wonders. Just wait the standard 3 months and after that, if its not sore anymore and you feel comfy changing it.. Go for it. Just make sure you steralize the jewelry you put on.

I got mine done in July as well. My piercer said 3 months. But it's not fully healed until 6 months (maybe even longer) so I'm just going to wait until it's fully healed, especially since it's not the summer anymore so I'm not showing my belly!

I changed it a week later. It's fine as long as you clean it good

I'm pretty sure it's 3 months. I have the top and bottom pierced and I was told not to change it for three months and even then not to change it if I saw any puss or redness.
