Having thoughts on raising money to do IVF! Not sure I'm ready to share our struggles with all but we cannot afford to have the procedure on our own. Do you think it's a good idea to raise the money!!?

We just don't feel comfortable asking others to donate to us. Just a personal choice. I feel like if we can't afford ivf, how could we reasonably explain that we can afford children? Plus, it's our problem, not friends and family that we can't seem to get pregnant. We have decided to save up, cut down other bills, and possible get a credit card. It's a lot to take on. I have heard that other states are cheaper. In our case, having insurance coverage makes ivf twice the price than cash pay. We will still be using a good chunk of change of our own funds. Total bummer. We could save a lot if we were cash pay. It's a rough choice though, good luck!

Look into ARC Fertility - they might work with your clinic.  They have various financing plans and rates - very nice & reasonable.

I was lucky enough to have 50% insurance coverage.  I got a fertility loan through fertility finance but in hindsight I should have just gotten a regular personal loan.  However I did create a gofundme account.  I had to think hard about it. But I only shared it with my very close friends and family and a handful of coworkers. I personally don't think anything is wrong with asking for donations.  More people are willing to help more than you think.  Every penny counts even if it's not the total amount you need.

Ive noticed almost half have answered no! How would you get the money for this treatment that cost between $15,000-$20,000!? Any treatment centers around me all want the full amount up front before treatment is done!! Open to all suggestions thank you all!!!
