I had a lot of bright red blood with tiny clots while on the toilet. Dr it said was broken blood vessel caused by straining.

It stopped very quickly - but was very scary!

Brown blood is normal, anything else or if it's heavy go see the doctor. I had spotting near when I was supposed to have my period. I was told it's very normal.
