Painful night?

My doctor told me to wait one cycle after getting off birth control to get pregnant, so I did, actually it's been two months and October was the first month ttc(3rd month)...I'll tell you my af came last night making me feel like I did when I was back in high school...I had the most debilitating cramps, chills, fever, all of the blood rushed out of my face, and I couldn't move...it was the first time I've felt that pain in about 17 years. I really thought I was feeling signs of pregnancy but no, af decided to come full force. It hurt so much that my husband almost took me to the ER. Anyone else experience this and what is your remedy for the pain?

Definitely talk to your doctor to make sure you don't need medical care.

I have endometriosis and have had horrible cramps since I was a teen. Over the years I've developed a method of controlling the pain. Maybe some of these ideas will help you (I hope so, I know how horrible it can be!)

- start taking ibuprofen a day or two before you start (take preg test first). The helps it build up in your system 
-use Thermocare Heat Packs for at least 24 hours when pain starts. These are little portable heating pads that fit between your skin and underwear. The heat helps your contracting muscles relax and not hurt so bad. You can find these in the pain relief section of grocery stores, pharmacies, and Costco often has sales on them 
-keep on top of your ibuprofen routine...it keeps the pain under control.

When I went off bcp I would have very painful periods. at about 8 months it's not so bad.

It can take a normal.couples to conceive In 12 months. relax

Be careful when taking ibuprofen as too much can be bad for you stomach and kidneys. Make sure if you do have any antiinfamitory drug have food with it. I use naprogesic which is naproxen sodium and it works on the prostaglandins which is the main cause of the aches and pains with you period. Again, make sure you only have it with food and don't take it for too long. 
​This may sound strange but I swear by it to help reduce pain from cramping. Try kneeling on you bed, floor or wherever and rest your head on a pillow and put your butt in the air (kind of like doggy style but your head is on the ground so your butt is higher than your head). This takes the weight off your uterus and really does help with the pain

This happened to me my first month off of bc, although it happened when I ovulated. I was cramping on the floor for hours, and it was really scary. I have been off for three months now and that hasn't happened since. So maybe yours will get better? But I have to say my periods are much more painful than when I was on the pill-- I guess I didn't realize how much it was helping. I take ibuprofen regularly during period and use disposable heating pads. It's still rough but those help.
