Is a 14 year old dating an 18 year old bad?

Me and my ex had to break up because of our age but we still love each other and still hang out. I wanna know what you guys think about the difference. His dad is the reason we had to break up so I want to know if he's being unreasonable about it

You guys are at totally different stages of your life, you're just starting high school and your biggest issue as a freshman is if your friends like what you wear that day, an 18 year old is getting ready to graduate or is in their first year of college, their issues are a lot bigger like knowing if they're moving out when they graduate, what college to go to, how they're going to pay for things. 18 year olds can buy cigarettes and be in the military and 14 year olds can't even get a drivers permit. Perhaps you should wait til your stages in life even out. Not trying to upset anyone but just stating the facts.

My boyfriend was 21 when we started dating (I was literally JUST TURNED 17 a week prior) and we're coming up on our 4 year anniversary next week! Haha I don't think it should be a super big issue.

A 14 year old girl mentality is way lower than an 18 year old boy who has has more experience with life and relationships and everything. I think 14 year old girls are still naive .

Ehh i was 14 dating an 18 and i turned 15 in september while we still dated. My mom was fine with it. Even though it was illegal but i mean.. If you love each other its meant to be lol

From a personal point of view I would feel really weird if I were 18 dating a 14 yr old. I don't mean this in a bad way at all but even though you are growing up 14 yr olds still look like kids and that would have been enough to stop me at 18. I think its good to take a break. If he really truly loves you he will wait for you to get older

I personally always date guys who are 2+ years older. Im 16 and am dating a 19 year old. Guys closer to my age are generally immature. College guys arr the way to go

I was 15 and my boyfriend was 20 when we first started to date. But I was about to turn 16. In the state if Florida it's not illegal to date he's not over the age of 24. That's if your 16. Maybe check your state statutes and find our the laws where you live. That way if it's legal his dad can't do or say anything
