Is a push present really a thing?

He didn't call it a push present and I wouldn't have accepted it if he did
I think it's nice if the daddy gives you a present after giving birth to his child. 
I got a ring and a necklace flowers and chocolates 
I got chocolates from my parents too

It was a nice gesture and totally unexpected they had mum on them so I totally loved it

I think if we start expecting things like that it'll lead to someone's disappointment and some kind of competition between new mums who are already bragging about the length of their labour feeding and sleeping patterns and how many shits their baby does per day compared to others

It's not a thing and it shouldn't be 
It's a gesture made by the dad not a reflection of how he feels about you

Yes it's really a thing, but I think it is so stupid.  My baby is the best gift I could ever ask for, I don't need any other present because I went through labor ?????

Seriously we all deserve one. I'm so tired and sore and sick of getting kicked in the side!! I love this baby and I wouldn't change a thing but seriously, DH gets an amazing gift from us!! He doesn't have an inkling of all that we have to go through and how much we endure.

I think Push Presents are really cute actually. ;) It's like a thankyou for bringing a child into this world and for carrying baby for 9 mo. ;D!!!

I told hubby about it before we got pregnant and he agrees it's like a big thank you. He'll most likely get me another ring. I think it's sweet.

I've only heard about it fairly recently. I don't get it. So you had a baby. Big whoop. You don't need an extra gift on top of that.

Since both my husband and I own two door cars, hubby said he will get me and SUV for my push present.....but I'm pretty sure he wants  the car more than me lol

I had heard of it but NEVER expected one. DH (bf at the time) surprised me with Diamond earrings after DD was born. After the labor/c-section experience I had, he joked that I deserved a car rather than earrings ? I was mad he spent so much money on a silly made up gift but I appreciate his thought behind it so much and wear my earrings daily ?

I know what one is but my hubby didn't get me one lol hoping this time he will get me some pretty flowers.
