I was 21, very active, my weight was healthy, (not over or under weight) and my periods were ultra regular. There was nothing I could find that explained why I was having trouble getting pregnant, but I was. Every month was a greater disappointment and a few people would try to help me by saying "you'll have a baby when you're ready which wasn't helpful at all. 16 year olds got pregnant all the time and I didn't want to hear that they were more ready than me. I became resentful of all the new moms showing off their new babies, which I shouldn't have. I knew I would be doing the same thing if I had a baby of my own. Honestly, I don't know what changed, but I started feeling more hopeful. My husband gave me a blessing and I just felt better. I was still disappointed when I wasn't pregnant, but I was more optimistic. I was pregnant 2 months later! One thing I would tell women who are having a hard time is that I look back at these 11 months I spent trying to get pregnant and all that I have been able to do for others that I wouldn't have been able to do if I was pregnant and know that God has a plan, and sometimes it has nothing to do with your readiness to have a baby. But more to do with what you can do for others.

I'm super new to using Glow and this post somehow was on my feed, but I read it and you said your husband gave you a blessing. Are you LDS??

My mom grew up in Washington. I lived there from age 6-10. I lived about two hours from Spokane.

So am I. That's funny, one of the very first threads that popped up happened to be someone with the same religion. You wouldn't happen to live in Utah would you?

Despite being healthy, stress can take an unexpected toll on our reproductive systems.
