I recently played a game of truth or dare with a group of friends and they asked me who my crush was, I had to answer and my friend knew him and gave me his number. 
So now I got his number in my phone and I'm too scared to text him (he doesn't really know me, just by name) 
What should I do?

4 years ago I texted my crush for the first time. Here we are in our first apartment. Taking a risk can be a good or bad thing but doing nothing at all will get you nowhere.

Does he know who you are? Have you ever talked in person? It will be awkward to text him and him not know who you are.  Talk to him first. Maybe even make an excuse for him to give you his number so its not so out there.

I usually start by something off topic but gets his attention and run into a conversation then. For example my boyfriend now I just liked everything on his Instagram and we just started talking. If not text him. It might be scary at first but sooner or later your will get more comfortable at it. Make sure to be you and try and not impress him too much. Just talk to him like you would a close friend :) good luck!!
